Keaton Beach Sat. 12

Post by pennfish »

Drayno, and I left the canal with the tourney group at 7:00, we decided to run north to Spring Warrior and work our way south in hopes of finding fish, after fishing in various depths of rootbeer colored water and catching one 8 in. fish we ransouth around 10:30 to try the same pattern from south to north with zero results. At 1:30 feeling extremely wind blown and quite humbled we ran back 1/2 mile north of the Keaton canal and bingo we started catchin fish, the water was dirty and the temp was 62* and the fish were there and by fishing that water with repeated drifts we had our limit by 4:30 2@15-3@16-1@17-3@18-1@20. The keeper fish came by using what I call a real aggressive slack line pop on the Thunder, when worked with the moderate pop and clik we only had small fish take the bait. We cought fish on every color of soft plastic tipped with fresh shrimp. It was real nice to catch some trout again :D

Great post. I had similar results sat too. I went south and could not find a fish then I came back to the canal area north of the markers and caught 5 fish. Only one was a keeper. But it did feel great to have my line stretched. It's been a long time.
