Need boat info/help

Post by Koenig »

My buddy is looking to replace his boat. He now has a 17 ft WEST BOAT. I believe it's the same as a KEY WEST BOAT, anyways... He is looking for a 22 footer, something that he can take in the flats(shallow) and also take out a little bit and not get sunk. Basicly something with more of a V-hull that will still float in the same amount of water as his WEST BOAT. Yall know of any good boats that would do what he is wanting? Throw some names.

Thanks in advance!

A flat bottom boat will beat you to death. :o There are tons of choices so to better answer your question we need a $$$ range.

Tell him to go by jacks boats in perry and look at the Key West 216 Bay Reef. That boat will do what he wants.

What Tom said...I just got a qoute on a 05 2000V Pathfinder with a 150 Yamadog....They hurt my feelings bad, they said I could drive away for $31,500.00...I drove away alright  ...You can get into a 20' Nautica Star for that amount, may a Palm Beach...But you can get a nice used boat for $20K that would fit the bill.....

Thanks for the tips! He checked out the Key West and a few others at the boat show a few day ago. I don't know much about them but he was looking at the Blue Wave 22 foot. That thing is 8 feet wide! awesome! But of course after all the assesories it would have come out to $30,000. yickes! If you all know of any one selling a 22 foot boat let me know!

Rather than look for a 22' have him look at the Cape Horn 17' Offshore....my wife and I have one and routinely fish the flats and while I have not ventured offshore with it yet, I have met other Cape Horn owners that use theirs pretty far out. They are 17'9" so he still would want to watch the weather.
