Lake Blackshear??

Post by chugbug »

Has anyone fished up there lately? I am headed up there with my daughter Saturday. I figured since it's going to be rough in the gulf we'd make a trip up there and check it out. It's been a few years.

Just remember that the water is probably still pretty high

I normally fish above the 280 bridge (north end of the lake). But with all of the fresh water it will be muddy. You might want to try the cypress trees in the back of Swift creek. That area normally stays a little clearer.

I'm going to Blackshear tomorrow with my son. It has cleared up some. The water level is back down close to normal. Spring Creek was very muddy earlier this week. Cedar Creek looked OK, as did the Smokehouse area. The area down around Powerline Slough and Alligator Slough usually clears up pretty fast also.

Hey chugbug, what about Banks lake? That's lots closer to you. I bet it's not muddy.

With all that water flowing into Blackshear, I'd let it rest a little fore trying it out, that's just me.

I'm going with a friend of mine and he wants to run his boat and wants to fish Blackshear. I'm just going for the ride and maybe catch a few fish. Plus, my daughter likes to go fast and since I traded my bass boat for a go slow offshore boat she been wanting to go fast.
