Mothers day @Keatons
All the wife wanted for Mothers day was to go fishin. So her we go ,me, her and the 3 daughters, ages 13-9-7. Needless to say I was guiding all day between baiting hooks and untangling lines. They are all pretty good fishing persons but there were just a lot of lines out. Got to the marina around 8:30 not many people there
so I used the boat lift for the first time because of my new boat and can't stand the thought of putting my new trailor in the salt...yet. Went north to Jabo area all of us fishing, nothing but shorts. Dolphins move in on us, cute for the kids to see but we have to move on now. All of us but the 7 yr. old using CJ's and jigs, were picking up shorts all along. Shes soaking shrimp under a cork and wearing our azzes out. I can't fish for taking off her fish and rebaiting, she catches everything on the flats. Her total for the day 2 spanish,2 jacks, several rockbass, numerous short trout, and 6 sharks(needless to say she thought that was cool). All this on the ultra-light reel and 5' rod I use to bream to bream fish with
. She now has a new nickname "Sharkbait". Fished all day till aprox. 8:00 p.m. Not much to show for it . 6 trout,2 blues , and 3 spanish, but the kids were really good and enjoyed themselves and got to reel in some fish at least. Not the box of fish I like to have when I come home, but a good family outing. Sorry no pic's but Mom forgot the camera.
