The area has pretty good channel markers and no hidden suprises like rocks. There is an old sunken ship that the is in the bay just before you cross over to St Andrews Pass. The mast are sticking up and you would have to really be tuned out to hit it. If you need some numbers from that area let me know (PM only). I would recommend that you look at http://www.halfhitch.com before you go. They have a pretty good weekly report. Shell island (the east side of the pass) is a popular spot to hang out. Fair warning that area is blessed with drunken idiots and especially on the forth. Enjoy your family time.

Chug,

I know that area well ( I fish it nearly every week), and East Bay (to the east under Dupont Bridge) holds plenty of trout. The entire shoreline of Tyndall AFB has good grass patches in 4' and less. Regrettably, for the past few weeks the trout have been running small. Plenty of them, but small.
Hope you have a good trip.

Maybe we can get together. Are you going to be around that weekend? I would like to go out and catch snapper, grouper and a king fish or two.

I've already made fishing plans (inshore), for that weekend, maybe we can schedule a trip another time.
