SGI- Memorial Day weekend

Post by Redhead »

What a weekend. Great weather all weekend, calm seas with a SSW breeze! Even Monday turned out great. Caught trout for the dinner party on Sat. Caught more on Sunday. Had a pompano skip right at the boat, but no hookup. The bay was very colored which reduced our normal fishing catch. Ended up catching fish on either end of Little St. George- where the water was moving and clear. We were surprised that the only number of boats we saw was on Saturday in one spot. Must have been 10 boats in one area- not many catching in that area since they moved off soon. Saw some bonnet heads prowling the flats. All in all a good weekend and enough fish to feed the group.

I can account for two of the ten boats :-D . And your right about the fishing being slow in that area. We stuck it out anyways, so that we could beach on the back side of the cut and let my friends children play in the surf and sand around lunch time.

Glad you got to chatch some trout the bay has been murky and fresh for some time now. I am hoping it will get back to normal by satuday. Was all the boats on the right side of the cut if you are going offshore?
