Shields Marina and Hurricaine

Post by tallarob »

How 'bout those pictures from Shield's Marina? I've got a boat there in dry dock and I'm assuming it's OK. Has anyone talked to the folks there? I was hoping to take my boat out on Thursday and am wondering if I'll be able to get it.

Hope everyone survived the storm.

Don't know much about St. Mark's. I know that Panacea Harbor Marina took it fairly hard; but, the dry storage boats seem to be ok. Lost a couple in the wet slips.

I keep my boat in dry storage there too. Brought it home before the storm. Today is usually their closed day. Tried to call and no answer. Fork lifts probably got wet. I'm wondering when I can take my boat back down there. They will probably be up and running pretty quick. Fuel may not be available though and I expect it will be a while before the store is operational.

I usually stay at the Shell Island Fish Camp and I am afraid they will be out of business for a while too. Tried to call them today and all I got was a busy signal.

Hope everyone in St. Marks recovers quickly. I have been through the aftermath of a hurricane before and living in Albany I know what a flood can do too. Good luck everyone.

Went down to Shield's Marina today and they are open for business! Certainly not full service at this point, but they can at least put your boat in the water for you. Not sure if their phone is working yet. As of noon today it wasn't.

They have done a great job of cleaning it up. At first glance you wouldn't know there had even been a problem.

Sorry,

I just got back into town. All I know is that you can launch from Shield's. I don't know about the other ramps.

The ramp at the fort had plenty of business on Saturday, as well as Shields.
