That's disgusting!!....that's what it is. :D Super catch

Tell us a bit about what you were catch'n them on, depths, etc., and how the water looks compared to this area.

no sir chalkmeister, still haven't made it down.....too much going on these last couple of weeks.......still :x And still weekend me and a couple of guys are fishing a two day tourny out of dauphin island....should be fun, it's got inshore/ offshore categories....and about 30-40 different categories....it's put on by one of the Mardi Gras organizations here and is only 20 bucks a head....so it should be lots of fun.

Sir Reel....we pulled a 16' trawl net before sunrise, after the 3rd pull we hooked it up on the bait.....around 150 lively croakers around 3-5" long and 7-8 dozens nice shrimp....the 1 st stop of day day we were pulling the croakers off of a ledge that went from 1.5' deep to about 10' deep, carolina rigged....water clarity isn't like it is down there, but you could still see the bottom in 7-8' of water. The second area we went, the visability wasn't as good....but the catching was.....we were mainly using the shrimp then, with a few croakers in the mix, 1/4oz. of weight.....free lining around bottom structure in the gulf. It was one of those days where it really didn't matter...we were catching 3 lb specks on dead shrimp and dead croakers  We never even tried any plastics b'cause we were fishing our inshore fishing club tourny....which isn't for money prizes....just plaques and braggin' rights....

thanks for the kind words guys, it had definitely been a while  I was due though, the last time me and this guy fish a club tourny together there was a 5 creel speck limit for two people, we came in 3 rd w/ 5 specks weighing 11.9 lbs.....not all that shabby I guess, but then you throw in the fact that not only did I not catch a speck, hell I didn't catch a fish the whole day   Luckily this time I had 4 in the boat between 2-3.5 lbs. before he hooked one....
