Problems, Problems, Problems

Post by Charles »

My old 'puter finally gave up and died. It gave me enough problems that I giggled with a maniacal tic in my left eye as I threw it in the compactor at the dump and asked the employee there if he would flip the switch so I could watch it crush. He did.

That was the fourth one I've had in 9 years before I figured out it wasn't the machines giving me problems. It was the OS, I'm now on fruit and feel much better.

Been fishing the same spot as I reported on in "West Side Story," every evening since Sunday. The reds, most of them too big to be in the slot, have been mangling my 52Ms, 7Ms and TopDog Jrs. I can't catch a trout small enough to be in the slot. Two gators showed up Tuesday. The bigger one kept a respectful distance. Had to do some 'splainin' to the the smaller one (~4') that if I was on it, it was [/i]my spot, he could have it after I left. Wednesday I saw one gator way off. He left. Later on I saw a shark cruising back-and-forth several times staying well out of casting range. He must have been talking to the gators. In addition to the usual reds and trout I also caught a flounder. I understand this makes an inshore slam in some circles, but to me an inshore slam is a keeper red and 5 keeper trout with one over 20". Something I'm having trouble with as all my trout are too big.

Went again yesterday. The wind was whipping out of the north, but I could work with that. Caught two more reds on the in-coming tide, one on a chrome TopDog Jr., the other on a speckled trout colored Rapala Skitter Walk, before the wind shifted, whipping out of the NE. Nothing I could do after that, but give up and quit early.

Hey CP, that sound like a terrible problem you got there. Why don't you tell me where to pick you up, and we will go to your "spot" and see if we can't change your luck! :-D :-D

To be able to fish a salt creek every night of the week....

You've got it made!
