Anyway, here's the Redfishing Machine in full dress.

<exasperated sigh> I hope the link works.
Anyway, on to the fishing. Started fishing at 6:45. North wind keeping things nice and cool. Started getting hits immediately on topwater. Less than 3' deep over good grass bottom. Caught an even dozen trout, mostly in the slot, but a few shorts. Kept 4, gotta keep the slot open for the one over 20". About 8:20 moved further up the creek looking for a red. Fiddled around for hours looking for a red. No red. No big trout either. Saw an eagle take a fish from an osprey in flight. That was pretty cool. Flipper over there busting mullet. Lots of bait moving.
Went back to the little trout after the tide started back in. All shorts, now. Nothing in the slot and they didn't really want it. Just kind of slappin' at it, playin' with it. Gave it up.
As I was driving up the highway from the island I saw a boat working one of the oyster bars I had worked a couple hours earlier. Hope he did better than me.
