My brother and I fished thr rock garden area yesterday. We kept 10 trout.one 16',2 17' the rest were 18-23". Several large bluefish and mackeral were released along with a 20" redfish. Later in the day we saw something crashing bait with a frenzy. We ran right into them and started casting. Every cast resulted in a 5lb. jack crevalle on the other end. This went on for over an hour, until too tired to catch any more we headed to the ramp.
All fish were caught on Abu Garcia reels with various baits.
JT, a buddy of mine got into a school of Jack Crevelle to the west of St. Marks 2 weeks ago. Glad ya'll caught your limit. Sounds like there ain't no red tide over that away.
At about 5 foot depth the water was silty and just generally dirty looking. No fish there, not even any bites. Four feet and less the water cleared up greatly. You could see the bottom in 4 feet. Plenty of bites in the clearer water.
