Buddy Chris and I launched at Newport around 2:30 and went upriver straight into a thunderstorm. Got drenched for about 15 minutes and then it cleared up. Fished only above the bridge and brought in 3 bass and two nice little bream. All caught on a floating rapala. Fished for a few hours before cruising around the river.

Glad ya caught a few fish, Dave.
Ya might wanna be a little careful up the river. There's lots of rocks up there.

thanks fellas - If I could have one freshwater lure it would have to be a floating rapala. If you've got one of those on the line, as far as I'm concerned, you're already have way there.
It's not a sure thing - but it's a pretty good lure. Unless of course they want a sluggo worm or a beetle spin or a rebel pop-r or a ....
