After a long traveling work day on Monday I needed to rest my cough by taking a day. After the household cleared out I decided a little sun and fresh air would do me good so off I went. The tide was real low when I reached the lighthouse around 10. Foolishly saving the oyster bars until later I headed for the flats, worked over to the Rock Garden, and then back to the East River. Ended up catching approx. 15 trout (most small except for some skinny legals), a three foot black tipped shark (let him keep the jig) and two what most have been Sand Perch. By the time I got to hunting for reds the high tide was in flood stage and no luck. My track:
As always I did a little exploring by easing around the tip of Palmetto Island and into some of the waterways through the marshes. Mullet were everywhere, and I was glad it was a rising tide because the depth was not good.
Dang Charlie, ya spent more time ridin than ya did fishin "from the looks of it" I do that sometimes, just to explore some new areas sure beats being at work

Would you believe I have highway maps of Florida and Georgia where I have highlighted every road I can every recall driving? Its a pretty much a fetish learned from my Dad a career Navy man who made a point of driving here and there as we criss-crossed the country just to be sure his kids traveled through each and every state (never made it to Alaska, yet). If I would just sit still I would be much better with the fishing.
