Fishing This Week

Post by Ron Wilson »

Looking for some input. Took the week off, shot my "personal" (2) deer quota for the year and am considering heading to St. Mark's for Thurs-Sat fishing to round off my week long "hunt and fish" week. With this colder weather, will the trout and reds still be in the flats? I've got a 19' Key West, so creeks and rivers may be tough.

I suspect most of the fish will still be on the flats, trout at least. The trout typically move slowly to their wintering holes in the river. Reds sometimes make the move quickly though. If you need any company let me know. I'm free Friday and Saturday.

I'm going to fish the flats until they start catching keepers in the river, that has not happened too much in the past few years....So, I would continue to fish the flats or probe the tidal creeks adjacent to the main rivers...

Maybe I'll see you out there tomorrow. I got a buddy coming in from PA to see what saltwater fishing is all about. I'll be working the flats and playing around in the tidal creeks.
