Myself, son, ranaman, and his better half left the mashes ramp after 10 for an offshore adventure. WOW you do not get much room to exit out of that canal, if that's what you want to call it. So the plan was to head to 30 ft or so and troll to the first spot, now I have never trolled for Grouper, so this would be a different experience. I stripped of some braid to get past a few bad spots and rigged up ranaman's perch colored stretch 30, tossed it out behind the boat, and broke the line, darn guess I did not strip off far enough. Now in most circumstances one would slowly motor over to the plug and use a net off some sort to retrieve said plug, but remember the title off this thread. Well we motor over and one occupant of the boat decided he would try and reach over the side of the boat, barehanded to retrieve a plug with 3 sets of treble hooks, and yes you guessed it, Brandon promptly splashed overboard in 50 degree water

guess you never seen people scramble so fast to haul him back in the boat. Lucky for him there was enough spare clothes, or he would have froze his off for the rest of the day.
Fishing was slow, very little water movement, and next to no current, I trolled up one keeper, then had issues with the motor wanting to overheat. Tried some numbers of ranaman and ended with 1 Grouper and some BSB. Was a might chilly under power, but not bad once stopped trying to catch. Nice day and good company.
