Trim Operation

Post by Pirate »

Need some info. I keep my boat in Apalach but live in Ga. Never had any work done down there but I'm having what seems to be an electrical problem with my trim operation from the throttle. It works fine from the the motor. It's a 225 Johnson, 99 model. Can anybody recommend someone in the coastal area that can handle this. I don't mind taking it a little ways but just don't want to bring it all the way up to north ga.
Thanks, Pirate

sounds like the switch took a crap to me. If it feels mushy and not a good positive click or if it doesnt feel like the one on the engine replace it. This is a do it your self project. both of mine went out  and new switches were the ticket

Never had any work done at Wefings; but, I did visit them when I was initially looking for a boat. Really nice folks. Even e-mailed me like 7-8 months after I visited them to tell me that they had a used boat that was exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, I had already bought something used a couple of months before. I was impressed that they remembered me and what I wanted so long after the fact.

Thanks for all the info. I'm around the corner from them so that's the place. It just helps to have some good recommendations before we send our prized possessions to the operating table.
