Might be fun to do an overnight at St. Joesph's state park when the scallops are in. Could do scallops, bay fishing and for those strong enough to haul their yaks across the beach some open gulf fishing for Pompano or whatever.
Maybe even a large cookout and the community pit one night. Maybe even bring a spouse or guest that is into beaches anyway (that is if they are not into yak fishing)
Also I stumbled across a Central Fl Yak club that will host a web sight for us for free?? I will have to search again to find it though. If anyone one can design web sights. They may require that we be a formal club though..you know regular meetings etc.
Actually I feel we (the club needs a seperate place to post so everything doesn't get lost at this location). Wonder if that could be done for us .
Finally is there going to be another meeting soon?

Hey There, the ST Joe plan was already high on our list -particularly for scallops. As to another site & keeping things organized (not getting lost), I can't see why whatever we want to do can't be organized here -but help me understand if you really think otherwise. For example, I think what we did at our first meeting could have easily have been accomplished on a thread here. If we pose questions & polls then we just need one of us to compile results and go from there. A general consensus amongst the yakers I talked to Sunday was that a good site for #2 would be Wakulla Beach. It's close, a lot of us know it, & the accessiblity would allow more folks to join in.
Whatcha all think? Straighten me out if I'm missing something.

I agree with on-line threads instead of formal meetings. Still would rather make us a separate group to keep from getting mixed up with other kayak groups info.
The web page thing was more for advertising our presence to other in order to introduce others to the club.
Since I missed the first meeting probably would be good if I knew a primary contact person (email ok). Incase I need info that I missed online

Im with what everyone else thinks but tend to prefer INformal to formal. FYI...I am also a pro web developer (for a little while longer) and like everything else in life its never quite so simple. If the subject comes up for serious I will share what little I might know about the joys of web decision making, design/development, site management, and hosting. Bob

I have to agee with Littoral and others this sight is good enouph for us. Tom Keels and Chalk are great!
I feel they would help us with any issues on expanding the Kayaking section so we can keep organized.
also I have several boats offshore , pontoon, geanoe, and canoes & kayaks.
staying here would make this an all in one sight for me and more attintion for our group than a seporate sight. also we aready get feed back from boaters from time to time and maybe some will join use as gas prices contiue to suck every extra dime we make

I'm moving down in April, and we've developed a pretty strong club here in Virginia. if I can offer some assistance I would be more than happy to help.
