A little activity on Lake Hall - 3 bass, 2 bream. Biggest bass was 1.5 lbs, caught on a jerkbait. The two bream were were nice handsize - they both hit a Norman DLN crankbait. I missed a nice bass - looked to be about 5-6 lbs. I was reeling in my jig when I felt a bump - I though it was just grass so I continued to reel it, sort of slow. I wasn't paying too much attention at this point. I looked down into the water at the jig - now pretty close to the boat and saw this big bass just following the jig. I was surprised because the water is so clear on Lake Hall now the fish had to see me standing up in the boat me but it was concentrating on the jig. At this point, I opened the bail and dropped the jig quickly. I got a quick strike but wasn't able to set the hook in it.
The water temp is now in the high 70's and very clear.
