Tuesday's Weather

Post by Sir reel »

Weather forecast for Tuesday:
TUESDAY
WEST WIND 5 TO 10 KNOTS BECOMING SOUTHWEST 10 TO
15 KNOTS AND GUSTY IN THE AFTERNOON. SEAS 2 TO 3 FEET EXCEPT 2
FEET OR LESS IN APALACHEE BAY. PROTECTED WATERS A LIGHT TO
MODERATE CHOP.
What's the general feeling on how close this will be with the thought in mind of being 5-7 miles offshore??

Thanks wevans. My dilemma is that my rider (with the numbers :-D ) is off Tuesday. Trying to decide if it's worth the risk (early pm winds/gusty) to go early. Would be in sight of mashes sands, but in my skiff. If the winds shift to the SW we'd at least be coming back in with a following chop. :smt102

Knowing whether your vessel will handle the worst part of the scenario is the answer.....Knowing whether NOAA gets it right is a shot in the dark, so knowing my first statement is also a shot in the dark....Go fishing, pay attention...deep in the morning and work your way back in...if its too rough from the start, don't go deep

Good advice and perspective Chalk  I have no doubt that my equipment can (has) handled conditions that are possible tomorrow. I guess it's a matter of comfort and the commitment of the time (vacation leave, etc) The ole cost benefit analysis going on... In other words... there ain't a blessed soul on this forum that can make the decision for me :o Thanks folks.

You're making it way too difficult. Either ya wanna fish, or you don't. Right now, after watching the tree tops bent over all day, I don't. :-?
What was I supposed to do today?

Wind out of the SW? Go early, before it kicks up, and come back with it.

How bad can it be? :-D

If I'd gonna early .....we'd have gotten beat up!! We decided to lay off of the trip due to an 8:45 doc appointment that my guest had and not try a late morning departure! which would have been perfect
