Well, we set out bound and determined to find my Dad his first redfish. With a little assistance from Birddog I can happily say we were successful.
Dad also had one snap his line and one jump off the hook at the boat. We easily saw another 20-30 redfish that had everything but a stick of dynamite thrown at them; but no takers. Also ran out and played with the trout for a short time and was able to land a few keepers.
All in all a good day on the water. Found a lot of new water. Even found a few short cuts back to the marina to avoid some of the wind and chop. Got to throw out my new driftsock for the first time. Shoulda had one of those a long time ago. Can't wait to do it again.

I figured fish were attracted to chartreuse lures...so why not a chartreuse shirt? Plus, if I get stopped by FWC, I'm pretty sure that it will count as a visual distress signal.
