Aucilla River 4-28-06 Friday

Post by Fisherman989 »

Went to Aucilla today. Low tide about 9 am, so left town about the same time.Got to the river about 11 and headed out. Went to the rock garden and got two big trout at 18-19 in before it began to fizzel out. Water temp was 74 degrees there...clarity was good.....and fishing was tough.
Went out to the flats...south of the ditch..... into 5-6 feet of water and began to pick up a few keepers....mixed in with many shorts. Got to keep 7 out of the mix. Got them on Gulp jigs...and sinking mirrorlures
Wen't back in to the rocks about 4 pm and got a 22in redfish and a 4 pound trout on red/white Catch 2000. Time to go about 1630 hrs. All in all....a good day.... got the limit for 2 people.....till we got to the landing. A wheel bearing had disintegrated on the way into the river and had to be replaced. Fortunately....we had a spare set...and the tools needed to change them. Made it back ok.
The close to a good day. :)
