St Marks 5/7

Went down to the blue crab festival Sat and stopped by Mikes to check on boat progress - and it was ready to go! So ate some seafood, browsed and toted her back home. So this am took daughter out to beat the rain. Got her up at 5 and stuffed a donut in her mouth and took off!

Got there and no wind, just bugs, but it made for a smooth ride out. Caught a few trout on topwater on the rise which was fun then headed over to try to get her a redfish. Well, her putting up with the biting nats early paid off for us both.

At second spot, I hook up to a redfish and hand her the rod saying its just a puppy 8) and watch her proceed to fight a red over the slot. Ran her around the boat real good but it broke off at the last minute! That got her casting and she is becoming pretty proficient. Had one on and she lost it, then later fought a rock real good for a minute.

Next spot, she popped her spoon into a good spot and I said, that should be a fish, next thing I know she is working a nice slot red and proceeded to land it after a good fight!

Christines first slot red! Well, that was alright! :-D

Finished with 8 hook ups, 2 lost and 6 landed. Back to the ramp at 1. Had a great time.

Nice fish, Christine.

RS, don't pay Cheech and Chong any mind. They'd both hard time their mother if they had the chance. I'm glad the boat is running again.

Sounds like you might be developing a regular partner. No doubt she's a much more pleasant partner than that other guy you've been fishin with.
What was I supposed to do today?
