the grouper are really starting to move in arn't they wander if they know something we don't........little early for them to be this close to the shore line we may have one cold winter the way it looks.........
I caught a 22 inch gag last week while fishing for pin fish. I hooked him on a Zebco 33 and spent abount an hour and a half reeling him in. we were in about 6 feet of water outside econfina.
No...UHHH...there ain't no groupers in shallow water...UHHHHH......it's all a hoax.....UHHH.......You don't need to waste your time.......gotta go 200 feet deep to catch grouper.....UHHHH......grouper up shallow?....whoever heard of such?
Hey, I don't know why it is so surprising to catch grouper in shallow.....in South Florida they swim right up to the shore and nibble on your toes! Seriously though, it's funny that they are shalllow year round on the East Coast....guess it's cause of the shelf. I caught a 19"Gag off of St. Marks 4a this summer......fishing for cobes......I know a guy who has some nice pictures of gags caught and speared on a shelf ESE of St. Marks in 18 feet ....he calls the ledge hammerhead reef....haven't been able to locate it myself but I'm sure it's 4 real.
