Hi tide around 8 AM so no trouble lauching at the ramp. Funny thing...no wind blowing at the ramp...but whistling at the river enterance. Went on to fight the wind and waves till we got to our best spot...south of the ditch. Up and down..up and down..good weather for C/T with gulp shrimp and it wasn't long before we had 2 trout in the boat about 16-17in long. As long as the wind was up...fish bit. But when it died down about 11-12 oclock...the bite stopped.
We went to the rock garden about noon and struck out..not a hit...but plenty of speggehitt (sp) grass....and rocks everywhere. Dangerous place.
Went on back to our good place where we had gotten a few...and got the largest trout of the trip....close to a 4 pounder. Water temp was 71 degrees on the flats. We had the limit of ten before lunch (2 of us)) ...and caught 2-4 more and released them before we quit...in a very blustery wind about 2 PM :D
