Re: Live Bait/Carrabelle Newbie

If you're a cheapskate like me hit the flats just inside of the island on your way out. As salty mentioned, sabikis or small hooks and you will fill the live well up quickly. My 5 year old has a blast catching our bait for us out there. And, continuing with my cheapskate rant, Crums had a whole bask...

I know there are a ton of threads on here about cobia, but I haven't found the right one to help with my particular dilemma. I picked up some gulp eels to pull behind the boat and cast for cobia. But I'm not sure what the best way would be to rig them up. Is it best to put them under a popping cork ...

Re: Thought I'd share...

The pursuit is what makes it a sport, for sure. The "non-fishing" crowd will never understand. By the way, be careful taking those Indiana Hoosiers out to fish. They are a shady bunch

Thought I'd share...

3-5 foot seas kept us from making the first grouper trip of the season So we decided to take the family for a day at St. George. At the last minute I decided not to bring any fishing gear (big mistake). We got to our beach spot and set up, with folks on either side of us fishing. They were catching ...

Re: Motor issue

Had a similar issue about a year ago. Mine turned out to be clogged carb jets. A good cleaning fixed it right up. However, your issue stating that it gets on plane and then loses power sounds like it could be related to the oil pump or a stuck reservoir float sending it into limp mode. I've had that...

St. Marks 3/30 Report

Left the lighthouse ramp at 7:30 to fish the outgoing time. Ran up into east river and fished for about an hour. Only thing biting was the gnats. Ran out to the oyster bars, fished for another 45 minutes. Landed a 20 inch trout and lost another comparable trout right at the boat. Nothing else biting...

Captain Mike Goodwine would be the one I would go with. He posts monster fish on his Instagram all the time. Here is his link http://www.blackneckadventurescharters.com/capt-mike.html Captain Mike's name is coming up in some other discussion forums where I've posted this question. He must be pretty...

Re: Guide advice needed

2 anglers. I have no experience with guided fishing trips, so I'm shooting in the dark here. Is it common for a charter to go out and not catch any fish? I'm assuming that's pretty rare, but I don't know.

Guide advice needed

I've got some of my yankee friends driving down to Kissimmee here in a few weeks and they are wanting to hire a guide to do some inshore/near shore fishing in the Tampa area. Anyone have any recommendations?

Re: Spring Break trip

You can put in at Mashes sands ramp. To get there you turn left at the flasher just before the ochlockonee bridge. There is also free ramp on the other end of the bridge, which is good for launching a kayak but not good for a powered boat. There are a lot of oyster beds at the mouth of the bay and f...

I've made that mistake. Their mouths are like a bear trap. Even dumber was the time I tried to lip a trout... Yeah, I always learn things the hard way. . Take a bass fisherman trout fishing and it's gonna happen. Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk When I first started fishing saltwater I was ou...
