Saw this article and wanted to pass the info along. Can't really believe it... I know the risks of raw oysters and make an informed decision to eat them when I want, I guess I can't do that anymore. What a crock!

10-1 Evening
Got out after work and put in at the lighthouse. I was surprised to see all the spanish mackerel in the mouth of the river. We stopped in the middle of the commotion and quickly got broken off. Tied back up and proceeded to catch numerous large jacks but could get a hook in the spanish. Almost had a...

Re: Survey Tide Question....
In the evenings I've been catching my reds at the end of the low tide. This is at the oyster bars at the mouth of the St. Marks. One day a few weeks back I didn't catch much and was thinking of leaving because the low tide was hitting and then the reds starting biting so we stayed another half hour ...

Got out Sunday afternoon about five o'clock. Launched at the lighthouse and caught bait then headed on over to my favorite bar. About six thirty the reds decided to show up, along with the gars. From six thirty till eight thirty we caught five keeper reds with the biggest at 25. Also caught about a ...

E15 Ethanol
I was reading a post on thehulltruth and thought I'd post a link over here. Please look into contacting your local and state reps to urge them to do what they can to stop the increase of ethanol blends. I sent an email to Charlie Crist and also sent my comments to the EPA (see below post on thehullt...

Decided to fish "my" oyster bar after work yesterday. Got to the lighthouse launch about 7 and easily caught some very nice finger mullet and menhaden. Went over to my favorite bar and right away my neighbor caught a nice 26 1/2 inch red followed by my 23 incher. Two in the boat, we procee...

5/31 St. Marks
Had some friends visit for fishing last weekend. I was hoping to put a few keeper trout in the boat and was definitely not expecting the type of weekend we had. Saturday the guest showed up around nine, a little late for me, and we set out for the fort. I really like the new ramps there. Even with t...

Re: First Dragon Encounter
Sure thing Waltdawg. I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope to report about the fish I catch this weekend instead of the rocks I hit, but either way I'll be out there and I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for the tip Birddog, until the water clears up I may stay out by the stake line or the peter...

Re: Chart Question
Thank you! The chart is a cool tool and better when I searched the forum and figured out how to download and use the viewer to show gps numbers. I'll be spending quite a bit of time checking them over.

First Dragon Encounter
Bound to happen, but I had my first dragon encounter with the new boat. I was idling so it's just a few scratches on the lower unit. Definitely hurts me more than the boat. Of course I was in an area I thought to be "safe," if there ever is such a thing in our area. The coordinates for oth...

Chart Question
I've been looking at the NOAA nautical chart 11405 for our area and I also referenced Chart 1 which indicates what the different symbols mean. On Chart 11405 as you go from the St. Marks Bird rack east towards the Aucilla there is a submerged pile, then almost a line of items labeled Pile PA. PA sta...

St. Marks 4/4 and 4/5
Went out to Peters Rock area on Saturday from about 1-4, I saw a ton of boats in close so I decided to give it a try out in deeper waters. Managed 1 keeper trout and a nice sized gar. The weather was great though and it gave me a chance to play around with my new gps. On Sunday we went early and gla...
