Saturday God said "Let ther be wind and fog". And poof, he made plenty! Windy and foggy all day. haha We were forced to stay in the river ...

Re: Quick Question

Me too! It's a whole lot better than burnin' up out there. I just wasn't sure about the cold. We would like to get down there later this month for a little weekend fishin'. Didn't know if it was to early, since we've never done it before. (In January that is)

What is the closest date we should plan to fish Steinhatchee for Trout and Red's? And maybe catch some.

Steinhatchee?

I'm going to be there this weekend for the first time to try and catch some trout. I have fished Keaton plenty. Is Steinhatchee similar? I'll be fishin' from a 22.5' pontoon. Is there anything I should know for safety reasons? Where have they been bitin'?
Thanks!

This weekend @ Keaton

Not the greatest trip so far. I've ben to Keaton 8 times now. Every trip is 4 days (Thursday - Sunday). I have never seen the tide this low. Trout were biting Friday, but couldn't get a keeper Sat or Sun. We wound up with 9 trout and one spanish mackrel all together. Much less than normal for us ...

Thanks fella's! Got'cha! Stay shallow and run the creeks. Just how far is the steinhatchie reef from Keaton? I am in a pontoon boat. :-?
As for buying gps tracks, I'll keep my green. Cause when yur onboard "My Dixie Wrecked", you'll always have a good time.

I can vouch for Keaton Beach Marina and Hotel. I've stayed there many times. The rooms are nice and only about 100 ft from the dock. I'll be there myself March 15-18.

VHF Antenna

I have installed a Cobra MRF55 radio in my pontoon boat. I was planning on putting the antenna (36" whip) on top of the back canopy frame. I was reading in the manual and read that the antenna shouldn't be more than 3'-0" from the radio. Is this true? If I mounted it the way I'm talking of it would ...
