Re: More reductions- Red grouper.
Here is my take on the Federal side. First, the Fed level is bought and paid for by commercial interests. Corruption runs high at the federal level these days. The Federal government has become an agenda driven machine. Second, commercial interests have all bundled together to forward their cause, ...

Re: Keaton Beach Marina
I'm curious how does one put a lock on a boat at a dock? Chain to the bow eye and locked to a post? Is there a boot to cover the prop? Never seen that one before... :D For what its worth the Sea Hag people may simply be passing on a cost increase from the owner of the property and what it takes to ...

Re: braid knots
Manually close your bail...This will help tremendously... This and only this will solve the problem. Haven't had a wind knot in years. Never knew this. I've never had a problem with wind knots, but I have ALWAYS closed the bail, manually. Dad taught me yaers ago that it was easier on the reel. Now, ...

I live about a mile from the dam at Lake Talquin and they have been slaying the stripes in the river just below the dam. Buck tail jigs or live shad are the most popular baits.

Scoop, I built a new house a couple of years ago and the wife wanted a gas dryer, so that's what she got, we had to have "make up air" brought into the laundry room, we Icynene insulated the house which stops almost all air transfer. Not sure if that is possible for you as I don't know the...

Re: Pin Fish Traps
I've found that frozen cigar minnows or fresh fish carcasses work best. The more bait you put in the trap the better it will work.leonreno wrote:Sun Daze, what bait have you used that works best?
I like to soak mine overnight, but have caught 3-4 dozen in just a couple of hours on a good flat.

The ABSOLUTELY best pinfish trap I have ever used is this.... catchlivebait.com
I have the offshore model but use it for flats fishing. I use a zip tie to choke down the inlet so I only get small pins. I have caught over 100 in a single trap before. They will out perform the traditional traps.

I pulled my camper out of there soon after the switch. I was paying $250 per month, which included water and electric. When I was informed of the management change, I knew prices were going up and as little as I get over there, it wasn't worth it.

More pussification of America. What does this teach them about competiveness? That's right, nothing! The younger we teach kids there are winner and losers in EVERY aspect of life, the better they will deal with disappointment when they lose, and losing is inevitable. This is one reason we shy away f...

Re: Lanark/Turkey Point 6-26
Size of the baits usually depends on the time of year. In early spring when the first show up, they'll be small, about 1.5" maybe 2" at most. Last trip they were 3.5 - 4". I've used 2 on a hook before when the baits were small. I've used them as large as 4.5 - 5", but those big o...

Good info there SD. I wondered where you picked all that up until I read the FT.Myers deal. I have fished down there a good bit and it's all about the whitebaits. Around here it is rare to see a cast net being thrown, except on the back side of DI. Actually Rocky, I learned all of the from my moms ...
