Re: Aucilla 2/23 Purple

I was thinking Saturday would have been a great day with all the sunshine. Ya'll wore um out. Not sure that we will be able to fish the tourney either. We shall see.

We were on the lake Saturday. K & K was pretty dead. Beautiful day though.

Aucilla 2/23 Purple

So, I had plans all week to hit up the Aucilla with my buddy Javan. He has been itching to get out there and has been feeling a bit ashamed for being a "no show" on our last scheduled trip. He didn't show. :smt005 Get this, even after calling him multiple times Sunday morning to make sure ...

Re: Some much needed saltwater therapy

Wife and I launched around 7:30am at the Light House ramp and headed back up the St. Marks to hit a section of bars that have always produced. We got a 27" stud Red on the bars but only two slot trout. Odd. I did notice a green slime coating all of the submerged bars, which I don't like to see....

Re: Anybody familiar with Snipe Island?

REPORT: Drove 2.6mi down Snipe Island Grade. Sign said no motor vehicles past that point. Fair enough. Backpacked for 20 minutes on muddy grade, getting excited as I felt like I was closing in on the end of the grade. With maybe 1/2 mile to go, I encountered a locked gate. No trespassing. Violaters...

Re: Red Grouper

Personally, I wouldn't worry about the salinity. I think you'll be just fine. Better to have bait and worry about it staying alive, vs not having bait at all.

Re: Red Grouper

You should be able to get Pin's and Sand Perch up the Wakulla and St. Marks. Sabiki tipped with shrimp. I believe you may be targeting bait too close to the mouth. The creeks that shoot off of the St. Marks just below the Fort will hold your finger mullet. I tend to do better netting when the tide i...

Re: Feb 8th 2014 NFGFC Results

My wife Nina and I launched at the Aucilla and fished West. Hit up some creeks and got 2 reds that were just shy of 26"s. We had also caught 1 trout that was 17"s. Knowing we needed to upgrade the trout we moved into a "creek of choice" and hooked up on a good un'. Fished hit a M...
