Re: Bear attack in Eastpoint
I don't disagree. There was a bear killed earlier this year coming off the bridge to SGI and there is another that frequents the dumpster at the red pirate.

Re: Apalachicola Bay Oyster FWC rule update 6-1-14
I am not certain the issue is the water flow either. I think the issue is replenishment of the resource as well as the reduction in size following the oil spill. I believe they reduced the size restriction when the oil spill occurred and have not increased it back up. That allows for a year or so of ...

Re: fishery disaster for Florida's oyster industry
Brhoper is dead on. When the oysterman were allowed to pull small oysters as a result of teh oil spill, the resource dropped and it will take several yers to bounce back. The spat have fewer places to take hold and there are fewer oysters at maturity. It is survivable, but you need to address teh ...

Re: A few quick questions about SGI
The state park is a good place, but the cost and timing to get in is tough. IF you turn north on 11th and follow it around onto Pine, ther is a little street - Beal I beleive. This goes right down to the bay and offers parking and easy access. There is an oyster bar just off the shore. I've had ...

Re: Too Fat for a YAK?
I was 6"1' and 270. I have not fished more than a few hours out of my mad river 12 ft yak. I have had no issues, but rough weather does seem to allow more water on board. Some of that may be yak design. Been on a mission and will not see 270 again.

Re: Guide for St George?
I spend a great deal of my vacations at St George. I will call him my next trip. My dad lives on island and is more intersted in offshore than the bay. When he fishes the bay, it is a dead shrimp. I prefer to FISH the bay. I'd love to pick up more info.

Re: Regarding the Annual BBF Social and BBF in general

I am greatful the board is staying active and to all of those whose friendship and mutual interst justified teh board. I look forward to meeting some of ...

Re: Mississippi River
My Inlaws lived in Vicksburg for several years and recently relocated back to Arkansas. Gotta say that I am pleased. the convergence of the Yazooo and Mississippi always floods the northern area of the town and people just move back in. I am amazed at the number of people that wait for water to ...

You put enough batter on anything, fry it up and add hot sauce and it will taste good.

That is good news. I plan on making a trip down in a month for some of the above and, hopefully some pompano in the surf.
