Re: Pilchards in Panacea?
Any advice on where to catch pilchards out of Rock Landing in Panacea?
Thanks
No one gave you any advise so I will. You can catch pilchards anywhere in that area on top of grass in 4’ of water close to deeper water but you have to chum. The large sand bar that goes from the spring creek channel ...

Re: Big Bend Fishing
I haven't fished here as long as csmarine and probably some other folks. But I have been fishing this area for over 40 years, I know most of the commercial fisherman in this area and know of no one that commercially fishes for speckled trout. All the pressure on this fishery is from recreational ...

Re: New North American Trade Agreement
Is this is a joke? The new trade deal is literally almost exactly the same as the terms of the TPP deal that Trump cancelled. Trump cancelled the TPP, moved the provisions to the "new NAFTA", changed the name and claimed it as his own. The move cost the US hundreds of millions of dollars, and all ...

Re: Gag grouper size limit change and season set
Don't know if anybody noticed but we're getting the shaft here in our four county area. The rest of the state is going to get six months of open season and we get three. October and November are prime times in our state waters and we need to be included in those months. We need to make the fwc aware ...

Beautiful healthy looking snake. They do their part in controlling the pest population.
Glad to see there's at least one person around that's not an idiot who kills every venomous snake they see. With that kind of logic you should kill every alligator you see, you know, cause "some kid somewhere ...

Re: Shark Encounter
2005 Cape San Blass a 16 year old was attacked by a bull shark and had to have his leg amputated, only 3 days earlier a 14 year old was mauled and killed by a bull shark close to destin. Not even one persons life is worth all the sharks in the gulf.

Rivers bait and tackle on S. Adams St has them, just south of the main post office. He is an avid pompano fisherman and keeps most tackle and supplies for targeting them.

Re: bait in panacea?
White bait are in and they are grown. Guess they matured offshore and just moved in when the water salinity allowed. Been catching them for a couple of weeks, can't give you my exact bait spot but where I catch them is closer to Shell Point than Panacea. With the right chum and the right spot you ...

Re: 2013 gag grouper regs
Federal waters will be open for these counties, state waters will be closed during the federal gag season. So no stopping to fish state waters on the way in with gags on board.

Good information here SK.
When situations like the actions at the fishing tournament are presented to us after the fact, we typically take an educational approach. In the past, our staff has worked with coordinators for this tournament and we will continue to do so [/b]

Re: Mr. April
The bottom line is when you hold a fishing tournament where you collect and pay out $$$, you need a clear and complete set of rules. One of those rules is usually a strict adherence to all local/state/federal fisheries laws. If it's as you say above and half the anglers in the tournament are ...
