Painting lures
Does anyone know what kind of paint is best to paint old plugs (MirroLures, Redfins, etc.) or change the color of plugs?

Re: 11-18 Spring Warrior
Nice report. We were up there last Sunday and in the Cabela's tournament with similar results. The redfish we found were good sized, too, but scattered. Only negative was me cracking my skeg and ruining my prop. First time I've done that there. Who in the Valdosta area works on props?

Re: Econfina 10-8 & 10-9
What a great read. That made me laugh out loud, thanks. I fell down two weeks ago skipping down the metal slope at the Keaton public ramp. I still have a scab on my knee and my partners are still laughing.

Re: NOT Scoopseas oil spill thread
The article from the "Financial Post", if accurate, really upsets me. If we can get 90+% of the oil off the water with a Dutch skimmer I think that is a whole lot better than 0% because the EPA says so. All of this help that is being turned away is ridiculous. While folks are sitting around trying ...

Re: Lot of views, not many posts
Here's my take and I'm glad you brought it up. This site is obviously the best for what those who sign on are looking for, just compare to the inactivity on the other sites. It does seem, though, that there are alot of posts like yours that get no response. I remember one not long ago from someone ...

Re: St. Andrew Bay 5/7-8/10
I would agree about the topwater bites in big wind. We've seen better action either in flat calm water or big swells like you're talking about. Usually this year it's been the annoying in between wind that messes up my topwater bite. I also agree that you've learned how to catch them (which is more ...

Nice. That second fish looks like a slug! I've caught big trout with that same kind of skin scar/infection as that first one. What's up with that?
What do they do with the tournament when it gets cancelled? Do they change the date or just cancel it? Also, did they cancel the tournament at Keaton?

Keaton Beach 4/9-4/10
Fished Keaton/north Friday afternoon and Saturday for the Steinhatchee Community Tournament. Water was still a bit dirty on Friday but was clearer on Saturday. We ended up with 7 trout Friday and 2 of the fattest redfish I've seen. Both 27". I couldn't pinch them smaller. Mine 8 1/2 lbs, my buddy's ...

Keaton 3/27
Fished Keaton today 0800-1530. We caught 6 keepers in the first hour and a half, all on one drift. The rest of the day was a dud with 2 keepers. Did lose two or three keepers due to operator error but almost doesn't put limits in the boat. Caught the six just a hair south of Spring Warrior in nasty ...

Re: Keaton, 3/19-20
Thanks for the report. Was the flotilla north of Keaton? We woke up at 0430 today, looked at the radar, and went back to bed. At 1000 thought we might have made a mistake. But then came the wind. Oh well. I've driven 2 hours south too many times for less than ideal weather. With 3 kids and limited ...

Re: Keaton Beach 3-20-10
Oh yeah. Good day. Sounds like the bite quit around low tide? That's what I've been seeing. Were you north or south (not asking for any more info than that!)? I bet it was crowded at Keaton today. Thanks for the report.

Spring Warrior 3/19
Fished the Warrior today 0730-1530. Nothing steady, but flurries of good jerkbait bites all day except for around low tide. Ended up with our ten (4 on buddy's Gulp, he can't get away from them) by 1300, plus some releases. All caught in 3-5 ft (not where I thought they'd be.) Biggest was 22", which ...
