Re: Lanark Trout
Nice fish. I reckon we can surmise that you caught him on anything other than the bait shown?

Re: Lot of views, not many posts
LOL Guys. I frequent a ducking site in the "other" season and it is the same. Just trying to get some activity goin. It is wise to not give too many details, but like ya said, it ain't rocket science either. Anyhow, sorry for the thread, it is off topic too. I was just wonderin.

Lot of views, not many posts
Why so many readers and not so many posters? Are there that many lurkers around here that won't make comments and discuss stuff? C'mon, register already.

Today's adventure
Lets see, a lot of things happened in one day. I mentioned the very brief tarpon hookup in another thread. Ran out of Aucilla today. The water was so dark we could not see bottom in a foot of water, we ran a pretty good ways both east and west and it was still pretty dark. My boat is new to me, so I...

Re: Any Tarpon sightings yet?
Nephew hooked one today in the Aucilla River. Nice fish, immediately went to the air, but he never even got a hook set in him. We were fishing for reds and when he went airborne, I think it kinda shocked him.

Re: Sharks?
Bleed them. Good video on you tube for cleaning a shark. About as easy as it gets, don't sweat it. Oh yeah, bleed them. Ice them quickly. One more thing. Bleed them. My nephew soaked one overnight in lemonjuice. Grilled it with some pepper and salt. Wow was it good. The lemon gave it the right amoun...

My "new" used boat
Got to test out my new used boat this mornin :) . Got up well before dawn and headed to da coast. We scratched our heads for some location that would be tucked out of the howlin south wind and came up with a redfish plan. We boated 9. 3 of them needed the magical redfish stretcher, cause they were a...

Re: Carrabelle 2/21/10
I'll tell ya, this has been my worst year since taking up spring hunting. may not even get to go tommorrow, so I end the season blanked. been a while since that happened, but worse, I have not been in the game much. I need to get in a turkey lease in N Fl or So ga. When we did find birds in the Fore...

Re: Mid-week at the Aucilla-success
Don't smoke them very long. personally, I like fish over oak, with no seasoning at all. And never, ever, under any circumstance use briquets. Wood charcoal ONLY. You can get some at Winn Dixie (in Quincy anyways). I think Tennessee str Wally World had some wood charcoal too. Light blue smoke only fo...

Carrabelle 4/21/10
After a boring foggy turkey hunt in the am, with no gobbles and no sightings, we said let's go fishing. We had some 2 week old info on CBelle and had not been down this year. Spot 1: Fished for 30-45 minutes-no bite, no sign of life. Spot 2: Saw a nice shark, no bites other than bait fish. Now we ar...

St Marks 4/10
Started out in deeper water. Plan was float a shrimp and work jigs. I casted out the shrimp and had just set it in the holder when the clicker goes ape! Reeled in a decent Spanish. It was a sign to come. Fished the 7-9 foot depth for a while, caught a few more spanish. Headed in to 5-6 foot and caug...
