Re: Weaver's GREEDY GUT
DON'T DO IT. Their curly tail grubs are still deadly on trout.

Re: Bull shark fishing Ochlockonee Bay
Fresh stingray wings are hard to beat. I've dropped them in waist deep water and had big bulls find the bait before I could even get back to the beach .

Re: Alligator Point
I use Leonard's landing all the time, but always with my Gheenoe...and I've had to pick it up off the trailer and set it into the water plenty of times. That's also a landing where 4 wheel drive can be your best friend. The concrete ramp isn't very big, and if it isn't high tide, I usually end up ha...

Re: St Joe Bay help
On the Cape, the only launch point is the State Park. Unless you buy a year pass and get the access code, the gate doesn't open until 8am (someone correct me if I'm wrong about the time). In PSJ I've launched at the city ramp and Presnells. Indian Pass is also right down the road, and there is some ...

Re: Any real chance catching a gag in State waters off Taylo
Unless there are specific regulations that apply to grouper, my understanding was that possession=keeping. As long as you release them, you can specifically target grouper just as you can bull reds, Jewfish, tarpon, snook, etc...all of which are either protected or have specific regulations/seasons ...

Re: Fishing Line
I like PowerPro...have it on most of my reels. I've tried Spiderwire and Tuf-Line and liked them as well. Anything I spool with mono gets pink Ande Premium.

Re: Lake Iamonia
700 holes? I find that very hard to believe unless you count every little indentation in the bottom as a "hole".

Re: Storing Fresh Fish
The foodsaver/vacuum sealer is the best method I've found. Freezing the fish in water probably does just as good a job of keeping the fish fresh, but vacuum sealed fish are much easier to stack and store in the freezer, and they thaw much faster. I reuse my foodsaver bags as many times as I can.

Re: Iamonia Landing
Unless we experience another severe drought, the lake should hold at full pool or close to it. HewesMan, just be aware that most of the vegetation that was there 2 weeks ago is likely still there, it's just underwater now. Some of that stuff was pretty big and thick...that corner near Strickland's a...

Re: Lake Iamonia & Miccosukee water levels
This was the view at the Highway 12 fish camp... http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/526182_3857122604796_208243660_n.jpg Wow...if that's the view from the fish camp, it looks like the lake may exceed full pool (if it hasn't already). It amazes me how fast these lakes can go from being bone ...

Re: iamonia water level
I don't know about Iamonia, but I know Miccossukee is back up...almost full in fact. I just hope they don't drain it again. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Iamonia at full pool from all of this rain.

Re: Dumbest question someone has ever asked about your boat
I've had plenty of folks at the lakes around here ask me "What dat thing is" talking about my mudmotor.
Re: New pup
Beautiful pup. I like the name "Kate" and it does have an English relevance, i.e. Princess Kate.
Re: ZAC BROWN
I've seen them a few times and both sound better live than on the radio IMO. Awesome.
