Re: Lake Talquin Sept 25-26 - Early Fall Bass tactic help
Kikstand, thank you for the advice! We will do just that! Im pretty sure we will be out there Sunday morning. If you are fishing in that area look for the slow moving Mako. Ha Ha. I do not plan on losing a prop this trip.

Lake Talquin Sept 25-26 - Early Fall Bass tactic help
Ill be heading to Lake Talquin for the annual 2 day guy trip Sept 25-26. I've fished this body of water at least 4 times, now that I think about it I have fished every season of Talquin, but can't seem to dial in on early fall bass tactics without knowing what water temperatures ill be facing. Does ...

Billybass see my previous Lake Jackson post and scroll to the bottom. Short and skinny: Compared to my previous boat (pelican bass raider) its huge, spacious, fast and well balanced.

Lake Jackson 9-7-2015
Lake Jackson action on Labor Day! Rastus and I hit the water at 6:50 am off Rhoden Cove. Partly cloudy. Air temp Mid 70's escalating quickly. Water temp unknown. Started off the morning trolling the left side of Jackson. Rastus grabbed his first one on a watermelon fluke. We trolled in Megghinis Arm...

Re: Lake Jackson 8-30-2015
Ted, it is the Mako 17' Pro Skiff. Came with a Mercury 60 HP and man she is a beaut. Now I've been fishing out of a 10' pelican for almost 5 years now so anything bigger than that is a pro and which all comparisons are drawn from! Pros: (1) Enough space to fit 2 fisherman very comfortably. 3 fisherm...

Lake Jackson 8-30-2015
Hit Rhoden Cove at 6:45 am with Rastus. Unknown air temp and water temp, but with the small breeze and the rain from yesterday the air felt like the low 80's and water was really cool! Felt like Fall is on its way! Cloudy until about 10:30 am. We trolled the right side of Jackson until the last dock...

Re: Rough start to a good day 8/22/2015
Sometimes the best cure to a hangover is catching fish. On the other hand, if I was puking I would have been skeptical about stepping foot on a boat! Awesome catch!

Re: Fishing
8-23-2015 Launched from Mashes Sands at 7am with 2 buddies and attacked Levy Bay and Whetstone Point with every thing we had (spoons, cut mullet, gulp shrimp, tourist rigs, swimbaits in all sorts of colors). We managed just one....lizard fish...not 2 lizard fish...just one. We did see a lot of shark...
