Looks like you had a great year, Jhults11! Do you have a favorite lure/bait for catching the big trout and redfish? My go to big trout bait is a topwater plug...his ID will stay concealed :-D and as far as reds go it depends on water clarity and time of year...spoons (Aqua dream and johnson 3/8 oz)...

Fishing Report 12/20/2013

Fished St Marks/Wakulla River. Put in at the fort at 3:15 ,air temp was about 73deg. Paddled against wind and current and anchored and fished 10 ft from the channel marker just past where the St Marks and Wakulla join. Tide was coming in , light wind blowing in direction of current. We caught around 15 trout and one rock bass at Steinhatchee yesterday about a mile off shore on my brothers boat. 4 were keepers-one was a very fat 18 inches. We fished both sides of Dallas creek . Most were caught on the edges in 3-4 ft of water. Water temp was 65 deg.

Wow! Sounds like a great way to spend Thanksgiving. What were you using for bait? I caught most of mine bouncing green/silver soft plastics slowly along the bottom with heavy jig heads. The fish were really hugging the bottom on the edges of the river channel, so use whatever weight it takes to get...

Interesting! How many trout did you catch?
