Re: Grass(less) flats

Fished behind St George from east end to Sykes cut and there is zero grass anywhere to be found. Nothing but mud where nice turtle grass beds used to be!!! Anyone know what happened? Are grass beds elsewhere this messed bad or was apalach bay just hit hardest?

Help!

Re: Apalach Inshore

Everything between 71-69 on flats today. Never saw anything higher or lower than that once inside 6 feet.

Hoping all the storms don’t have grass beds too messed up for this year. Going to some places tomorrow where I feel comfortable finding bottom that holds fish. Will tell me a low about status ...

Apalach Inshore

Please tell me someone else was on the water today that can tell me I’m not stupid and that the fishing was really hard!!!! Tried all my go-to spots and all I could find was low water with no grass or fish!!! Fished hard from 12-3 before giving up and heading to oyster city(not a bad second prize ...

Apalachicola bay 10/12-14

Made a fall break trip down to apalach for some relaxation and fishing. Unfortunately the wind had a different idea. Without doubt it was the worst conditions I’ve ever crossed the bay in! Ole Poseidon beat us up pretty good both going and coming due to the crossing wind and waves. Had to tuck up in ...

Bull Bay Rods?

Anyone using bull bay rods that can share their experience with them? I am currently fishing st croix avid inshore, mojo, and tidemasters but was interested in giving these a chance. If anyone has used their custom shop to build one I’m also interested in how that process was and the results ...

Must have fishing accessories

Figured this might be a fun discussion:

Outside of fish finders, GPS, powerpoles, and trolling motors what would be your must have fishing accessories on the boat?

3 simple things come to mind immediately for me: long shanked hook "getter-outers" as we call them, a good drift sock to slow our ...

Flats electronics

I am about to buy a new fish finder for our pathfinder 20. We mainly fish < 8 feet for trout and reds. I was wondering what suggestions everyone would have. I have had basic lowrances in past but am thinking of going either with the lowrance 5-ti or hummingbird helix 5 chirp SI. Recommendations ...

Re: SGI Area advice?

Hate I missed this we were there the whole week fishing out of our bay boat behind the state park and did really well all on artificials of some sort. It was a mixed bag of top water plugs, gulps, mirrodines, and spoons but did really well until we decided to not fight the wind the last two days! 3 ...

Re: St. Marks this weekend

Been to both steinhatchee and Apalah bay and I agree with dixiereb anything with chartreuse. I also have been having luck with the nuclear chicken gulps in the more murky waters near river mouths. All I can say is SLOWWWWWWW getting most bites when fishing it almost so slow you forget ur even ...
