Re: Towing with Ford Bronco Sport
Thanks — that also was my concern. I think I will just add a trailer hitch to my GMC Canyon. I feel sure it can handle the load.

Towing with Ford Bronco Sport
Has anyone towed and launched a good-size boat with a Ford Bronco Sport? It's the little guy on a Ford Escape platform. I'm looking at buying a used one, and I'm wondering about the 2,000-pound tow rating. I might be a bit over that with my Palm Beach 18-foot, motor and trailer. The Bronco version ...

Re: Any luck with scallops in St. Joe Bay?
Thanks, Showboat. It sounds like it’s just a down year. That’s good to hear about the redfish, though. Maybe I’ll go back with a Skitterwalk or Mirrodine.

Any luck with scallops in St. Joe Bay?
St. Joe Bay is a little out of range for the Bend, I know. But I'm curious whether anyone has found more than a handful of scallops there in the season's opening days. My better half and I have gone twice already and have worn ourselves out. Without too much embarrassing detail, let's just say ...

Re: Boat lift maintenance
Jay Cooksey with Big Bend did the maintenance for me and even showed me how to do it myself. Thanks, all, for the reference.

Re: Boat lift maintenance
Thanks, fishinfool. I had seen that video once, and on second look the belt change does look doable. I'll probably try it.

Boat lift maintenance
Does anyone know of someone who will do basic boat lift maintenance in Parker/Panama City? I need to change the belts on mine but would like for someone who knows how to show me how. I can do most of the other stuff (lubrication, etc.), but I probably could use a few pointers. It's a Deco boat lift ...

Re: NOAA's Port St. Joe tide times wrong?
Thanks, all, for the comments, the history, and the peek inside Ed Ball's house. :o I know most of y'all don't venture west into the Eastern/Central divide very much. It just struck me as odd that NOAA is one hour and 40 years behind. Now I'll know either to adjust NOAA's tide times for fishing and ...

Re: NOAA's Port St. Joe tide times wrong?
It’s confusing. Central time switches to Eastern at the Bay/Gulf county line. But then the time line curves away from the coast, splitting Gulf County. So Port St. Joe and Cape San Blas are on Eastern time while Wewahitchka, also in Gulf County, is on Central time. From what I’ve read, Port St. Joe ...

NOAA's Port St. Joe tide times wrong?
Has anyone noticed that NOAA's tide times for Port St. Joe are Central rather than Eastern? I found out when we went scalloping off Cape San Blas. Today for example, the NOAA site https://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/noaatidepredictions.html?id=8728912&legacy=1 says high tide is 9:28 a.m. LDT ...

Re: Spring Creek info?
Thanks much. We didn’t get much beyond the Spring Creek landing and had no luck. Thunderstorms didn’t help. We did get some good tips, though, including yours, for next tine.

Spring Creek info?
Hi, y'all. The first mate and I are planning a trip to Spring Creek in July. Any tips on where to go in kayaks and/or find fish?

Re: Is this a chocolate snapper?
Thanks. Juan. That’s a gracious offer. My first mate and I have a few numbers we might try in our 18-footer. But the wind and waves have to be just about zero. Even at my advanced age, I’m still a city boy/landlubber.
