I tell ya, I would really enjoy building my own boat. But in my cabinet shop space is very valuable with the building boom and all that. Plus spare time right now for me AIN'T gonna be working with wood! :D

So the search continues.....I am thinking aluminum 1648 non-tunnel.

Chalk....what brand boat is that you had a picture of in your last post? I do like the idea of aluminum for weight factor. Is a jack plate necessary on a tunnel hull? Oh.......why to be me? Having to decide what is the best to buy! :-? Yes I want skinny water ability, I like to fish at Aucilla. But....

Thanks for the info guys.

I guess the tunnel idea may be more $ than I want to spend to do it right.

I am close to deciding between a DLX16 or 17 footer by Carolina Skiff, the "unsinkable', I like that aspect.

1981 Johnson for sale

This is an excellent motor, just got it checked out and the mechanic said great compression.
A clean freshwater only motor. Manual start, short shaft. Will throw your head back when gunned to full throttle.

Need $ to upgrade my boat situation for a 40 hoss I just bought.

Sale price....$550.00

Tunnel-hull question

In my search for a boat for my forty-hoss Nissan I have read some opinions on tunnel hulls from folks what said they'd never go back oncet they had'em a tunnel hull.

I know the shallows they rull, but how will one perform in the chop at the flats?

Anybody got some knowledge you'd like to share?

Well the buyers check report was A-OK on the 40hp Nissan! :-D

Laid down $675.00 + 20.00 for the check fee.

I gots ta have a boat!

I am thinking I will get a 1648 or 1650 Mv type aluminim. It will ride high in the water and weight factor is good.

Shopping now. 8)
