Cold and Windy St. Marks 10-22

Finally got a chance to go after a two month pause in my fishing. Took my two boys, 12 and 6, out of the lighthouse about 7:30. Left in the dark headed for east flats and Greymare. Started first drift right as daylight broke. It was cold and windy, as predicted, but the water temp was holding about ...

Good maps can be bought through "Florida Sportsman" as well as electronic charts through "Blue Chart" or other programs that can interact with a GPS. It just depends on how much you want to invest.

Trout Parasite Questions: anyone know the answer?

Having been fortunate enough to boat a few trout the last couple of weeks, I have noticed when cleaning them that a small percentage appear to have small white worms or some kind of parasite in the flesh. What is this and is it harmful to the meat?

It has been several years since I fished for specs ...

Is the weather man ever right?

Planned to take the family out Saturday before the storm, however the boat trailer gods had a different idea with a blown tire that caused fender damage and took the better part of the morning to fix.

Not to let the boat trailer ruin the whole weekend, looked at the weather and saw that the rain ...

St. Marks 4-24-05

Thanks to all of the input from this forum, I was able to take my family out on the flats east of the Lighthouse for a great day of fishing. We were able to fill our limits on trout as well as a couple of Spanish. All were caught on either DOA shrimp or Saltwater Assassin with the natural shrimp and ...

Struck Out @ Lighthouse, 10/24

I would like to thank all of those that responded to my request for info concerning the area fishing.
I decided to go down to St. Marks Lighthouse and try a little wading. I had a great trip, however it did not include the catching of any trout or redfish. My sons, 6 & 11 had a blast catching ...

New to area, looking for sugggestions

I am new to the area and have been away from inshore saltwater fishing for several years. I grew up fishing in South Mississippi and South Louisianna, but work took me inland for several years. Now l live in Bainbridge, GA and would love to take my two sons, ages 11 & 6, for some wade and shore ...
