I think you are right. It is still avaliable and there is drop box for the fee. I thnk it is a campground and there is a gate but don't know if they lock it.

Residential elevator needed
My elderly neighbor in Shell Point is in need of some type of lift because she will more than likley be wheelchair bound. It will only need to lift up to about twelve feet. She can not afford a typical in door elevator. I now this is a long shot but if anyone on the fourm has any ideas please let me...

Was at Shell Point yesterday and it looked like mini season in the keys except the boats were headed north. Moved my stuff to high ground too. Good luck to everyone.

I agree with Redbelly, have tried around live oak reef and found only a few scallops. The rock garden is the place to go.

I was told that FWC is seriously considering closing our waters for Scalloping due to red tide and stuff this past winter killing off a large part of our scallop population. Made plans to go to St. Joe Bay the 2nd week of July, now the bay will be closed.What a bummer, but still going just wont be able to scallop. Had a good year at St. Marks last year. There are no public launches at Shell Point at this time. The new county ramp will not be ready for a while. However you did say a small boat, there is a public beach that yakers and hobie sail boats launch at in the sand. Depending on the tide and size of your small boat would be the issue. I have ...
