We fished the creeks between the Econfina and Aucilla as best we could with the skinny water from 10 am til 2 pm with only a small trout and a bluefish to show for our efforts. This was somewhat expected because of the low tide, but it did give us a chance to look for good structure for the afternoon's high tide.
We were both using Gulps under CTs which killed them last fall. Grim tied on a gold spoon sometime around 2 pm and had his first red in the boat about 30 minutes later. This one was 22" so in the cooler he went

Within 15 minutes of putting the spoon on, I had my first and only red at the boat

All the action was at the end of the day and with no action on the flats we didn't have much to do during the low tide, but seeing how I wasn't at work, we caught dinner, we had the place to ourselves and the weather was beautiful it is hard to ask for a better trip. Now we are just waiting for a few weeks more for the water to warm up and then we can hopefully fill up the low tide time out on the flats.
