It was the three forum members and SeaNile's son Rick and CSMarine's buddy Don.
We went out at around 7:10AM and found SeaNile's pinfish trap but it only had 3 pinfish in it. So we caught up some more with some fishbites and some cut squid. We were using SeaNile's homemade livewell which worked pretty good.
Then we went out to spot #1 about 15 miles out past the last St. Marks channel marker IIRC. We trolled it and got one short gag and then another hit but the fish came off before we saw it. Both the hits were on chart./blk. tiger striped stretch 25s.
Then we tried out luck at bottom fishing which resulted in about 100 shorts. We were trolling from spot to spot with no luck.
Eventually I gave in and said to myself: "Self- If the gags are not big enough to keep or aren't biting, I need to get some grunts/triggers home to throw in the grease." So I started catching grunts and brought up a whole lot of them.
Then CSMarine started to catch grunts as well and he was slaying them, bring in a grunt on every drop.
Then Don (who was being real quiet up in the bow) brings in a 24 inch gag.
But that was the last grouper for the trip and we caught up a whole bunch of grunts (I caught a trigger as well).
It was a GREAT trip and I had some wonderful fried fish last night. I met these two forum members and they were great guys. We all had a blast.
I sliced into my finger pretty good with the fillet knife though (last night).
Took these pics on the way in:

Also, someone sent out a MAYDAY call on Ch. 16 but then didn't respond to repeated CG hails. The CG guy determined it was a hoax. We heard the MAYDAY so maybe they were close to us??? CG guy said it was a juvenile and a hoax though. Wierd
