Punta Gorda and charlotte bay?
Whahooo, parents just bought a vacation home in Punta Gorda on charlotte Bay. Anyone know much about the area? Fishing?
Hope it doesn't happen again in the same place - but these are 1st hand pics in Port Charlotte from Charlie in Aug '04.

Much of the AutoZone parts were strewn into the neighborhood behind this store ...

From a retirement mobile home park right on the water.

life changing event
There should be plenty of structure in this bay.

Fishing is good down there 4 sure. Things to know about the area, besides Cabbage Key location.
1. Learn to throw a cast net if you don't already know how
2. Get a good GPS if you don't already have one, lots of skinny water
3. Get a good map of Pine Island, Captiva, Sanibel
4. Fish are everywhere down there, so are the boats.

Born and raised there. Good fishing out in Burnt Store area you are going to have to get a map of the area but there is good flats that run all along the shore line from Burnt Store all the way to Fisherman's Village. Also like previous said Boca Grande area, look for Bull's Bay on your map. Big Snook at the 41 bridge at night if you have the patience. Tarpon in the morning you will see the schools running through the bridge following the bait. There is so much area down there you can fish just about anywhere.

I HAVE FISHED THE COAST FROM RUSKIN ALL THE WAY DOWN TO TEN THOUSAND ISLANDS AND NEVER WAS DISAPPOINTED, WE ALWAYS CAUGHT MANY FISH OF ALL KINDS. THAT WAS ONE REASON I LOVED TO FISH THERE, YA NEVER KNEW WHAT WOULD STRIKE NEXT.
