49 Chevy deluxe cab

Post by electric chicken »

:smt010 Gonna hate to see her go, but i have too many hobbies, so i guess if i'm gonna get another boat the old girl has got to go. She runs like a sewing machine and has recently had the front end and all brakes replaced. I have also recently replaced all trans shift linkages and rebuilt the original generator. Everything on this truck is original except for the rims, and i do have one original rim for the tire carrier. I've also got several other new parts that were purchased at Obsolete Chevrolet. Asking $7500.00. May consider trade for a bay boat. Anyway, here's some pics...

What kind of front suspension did you put on it. I have a 49 regular cab that I have been restoring for a while now and am trying to decide what to do with the front end. I want to keep mine original looking but with modern mechanical upgrades. I dont really want to put on of those mustang front ends on it. Just thought Id see what you did.

It's got the original suspension, but when i got it the front end was pretty worn out. I had to put new kingpins and bushings in it and had to replace the wheel hub bearings. When i got it, i wanted to keep it original, so i didn't replace the suspension, just rebuilt it with parts from Obsolete Chevrolet.

The spindle where the bearing hits it is chips and causes a loose fit I think I probably have to get a whole new axle . So you know if you can get just the spindle. Sure wish I had the deluxe cab like yours.
