Bad Behavior's back in town

Post by BAD BEHAVIOR »

Well for all the guys that had hoped this Gator was gone, too bad, Im back!! After a very hectic holiday season with the stores and a great deer season, Its time to knock the dust off the Triton and head south. Thought Id share a great deer season with you guys. After getting my first buck with a bow, I hunted one deer all year.

After going to Carrizo Springs, Texas hunting for a week with CT, I had not even pulled the trigger all though I saw over 150 bucks in five days. I saw many 130-140" bucks but not the one I went to Texas to take. I did take over 300 pics though and Ill share some of them in another post. Anyways, the next to the last day of the season in Georgia, I went back to my farm to give it one last try for my big buck. At about 7:15 or so he stepped out 150 yds away in my front clearcut. Heres some pics of him. He grossed 131 1/8. Maybe not the biggest buck ever, but very satisfying knowing that when I bought the place, I didnt have any decent bucks. I didnt have any pics of any quality bucks for about the first three years and through strict management and an extensive protein supplement program, Ill just call this buck the fruits of my labors!! I ve taken pics of 25-30 different 3.5 year old bucks that will go in the 115-120 range and should be some awesome bucks in a couple more years. Ive finally got my buck/doe ratio close to a decent ratio and I had many of my does drop two fawns this year. Im super proud if this buck even though he isnt the biggest Ive taken. Nothing like owning a piece of property and manageing the wildlife on it. I didnt pull the trigger all year, even on a doe. Ive gotten to where I leave the does for the kids we let come on the property. If by the end of the season, there havent been enough taken, Ill take a few, but It sure is a great feeling for the kids to get their first deer on your land. Hope you guys enjoy the pics and get ready for plenty of BS from BB this spring!!!!

:-D Congrats . What did it weigh? I had my best season ever this year myself. 2 bucks on my place and 2 does and an 8 pt at Hard Labor Creek. I'd like to get my boy his 1st next year(he will be 8) If you need a doe shot I'd like to let him shoot 1 for you. I only have 11 acres and deer don't show up often. :-D Ps got a close up of that thick rack?

Thinking seriously about it. Ive got a kayak buddy who has been wearing the reds out and he and I are thinking of taking the duck boat down and trying em out for that day. I have a few old spots here and there for the reds. I may take BB down to some other spots I have out of Carrabelle if the weather permits. We'll just have to see. And Hit -n- miss, get with me next year around season, Ill be glad to have him come.
