Boater's insurance
I was quoted $20 per thousand by Farm Bureau. What kind of rates do y'all have and with which company?

Thats sounds like a good rate, but it all depends on what it covers. Collision, comprehensive, towing, gear, liability, personal injury?
Mine is $25 per thousand with progressive with varying rates of all the coverages above.

I've never beat Progressive myself. I've tried! $20.00 per thousand isnt bad if thats for ample coverage.

Progressive is tough to beat if you have a automotive policy with them. Also, they give a boaters safety course discount. I am paying a little under $20 per thousand.

The insurance company keeps satellite images of new boat owners for a year. Rrunning through the rock garden can get you some hefty rates..Bow'd Up wrote:Just got my bill from Progressive......789.00 anually for my Skeeter ZX 20 bay with 150 Yammy 4 stroke, value 33500.00. Re: Boater's insurance
Farm Bureau gives a depreciated payoff based on present value. I was told it is about 10%. Coverage is in transit collision on trailor boat and contents and motor. Sinking, theft, and if I hit one of those godawful rocks at Aucilla it pays on that repair. So if it wound up totalling the motor I would get the value of the motor, not enuff for a brand new replacement.
