i was going to buy one local but the guy misadvertised it so im back at square one now. im going fishing in the morning so i removed the motor from the mount wrapped the whole shaft in duct tape and then put electrical tape over it so its black.. lol i guess it will work for now..

Wow!! That's a nasty crab trap. Makes ya love the crabbers who leave them right in the middle of the right of way so that the bobbers can get cut off and then get lost. In defense of the crabbers, I doubt seriously that it was placed where I found it. That malignant mess had been there a LONG time. Hard tell'n where it was placed originally.
"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".

I would have to agree that that is a likely prospect. However, I have often found trap lines placed in or very near channels that can be somewhat of an impedence. But I do love a crab, so I don't ever think of more than a little fun-loving ribbing.
