Cooking DEER tenderloin "grilling"
I ALWAYS fry deer tenderloin
but the wife wants some grilled "or baked"
I seem to remember Tom's dad or someone else had some bacon wrapped tenderloin at one of our socials "IT WAS GOODDD"
Y'all help an adicted to frying fella out with a recipe "you can PM it if ya don't want others ta know"

I always like to split them and fill with real garlic, a little salt and pepper. Wrap with bacon. Use a little hickory chips on the coals, just a little. simple and melts in ya mouth.

Re: Cooking DEER tenderloin "grilling"
Just came in from checking mine on the grill and saw this post
I like to brown mine in a cast iron skillet that is NEVER washed, just wiped. I take them from the skillet to the grill, add seasoning, remove after 15 minutes and eat
Got 12 minutes to go right now till tenderloin, sweet potatoes, homemade cornbread and sweet peas

Cut it into large cubes, marinate in your favorite stuff. Add a piece of pepper jack cheese, a jalapeno and wrap in bacon and pin with a toothpick. Cook on the grill until about medium.

Just watch your time and heat. It's easy to over cook it.

It may be that my sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
Re: Cooking DEER tenderloin "grilling"
The wife don't want the cheese or jalapeno
so I'm soaking it in marinate right now and will salt and pepper, wrap in bacon and throw it on the grill in about 30 or so minutes
I sure would rather be fryin it

Re: Cooking DEER tenderloin "grilling"
I know why it was tuffer
I cut it with the grain "the wifes suggestion" instead of against it

Man, deer processing has become EXPENSIVE!
A buddy of mine just paid $225 to get a doe in all sausage except for the back straps. I never remember it being that much $$.
