So, I decided to take the kids to school and then go to work. I spent the day working on the NE side of town, sweating, and thinking to myself that I would rather be sitting in the woods enjoying a cool breeze. I ended up my day working out Centerville Road, so I decided to run up to the property to move a stand and sit till dark. I watched a hawk dive on a covey of quail and squirrels run everywhere. No sign of any deer though 
I decided that today was not my day despite the beautiful conditions....sitting in a deer stand wearing shorts and a t-shirt
That's a first for me. I stood up to face the tree, and looked across the road to find a doe walking along the edge of the road along the fenceline about 100 yards off. Then, a few steps back was another deer. The deer to the rear stopped, turned my way, then disappeared down the bank along the road. I kept watching in the general direction, and 5 minutes later, he appeared walking my way. I put the scope up on him, and saw a nice little rack. I let him keep walking and he kept coming my way. As soon as he made the turn to walk down the edge of the field, I shot. He fell and didn't move....perfect shot!!!!! He ended up being only a 5 pointer weighing about 120 lbs. but I'll take that
